Movies - By the Gladeyes

So we make movies as well as music............. So far there have been four and they have all been improvised and used a hand-held camera technique;)

Cigarette, Cigarette, Cigarette 2004

On Holiday 2004

On Holiday is set in a motel in the Western Suburbs where we went for a day-long holiday.

Welcome H 2005

"Following up on territory last explored in On Holiday, Jade and Gwen prepare for the arrival of their ill-defined acquaintance 'H' at the Auckland International airport sometime late at night...... using one handheld camera and the assistnce of Sarah their confidant, Gwen and Jade explore the airport space and review their relationships to 'H' and to each other. The result is a cinematic cameo of low budget filmmaking and improvised dialogue. As the night wears on, it becomes apparent that 'H' may be harder to find than they had first expected..........."

Welcome H is my favourite movie of all that we've done - so here are some more stills from it:

The Making of Expervier 2006

The Making of Expervier documents the Gladeyes and their accomplices as they make a movie about the launch of their homemade raft Expervier.

So that's it dudes, if anyone wants more info or would like to know how to get a hold of a copy of these movies then email us on We should have some excerpts from the movies posted on you-tube soon so stay tuned :)

James Hayday aka Mr Hayday, who kindly mastered our Prospect Palace Practice Tapes, has just released his debut ep.

His bouncy, fractured electronic beats are awesome! So you should check them out -

Hue and Cry Art and Literary Journal

Last night was the launch of the second issue of Hue and Cry. This is a great art and literary journal put together by Chloe Lane. We contributed an excerpt from an interview Gwen's Dad did with us. We are going to publish the full interview as a book........!
